Online soccer betting tips for today

Can Germany win the European Championship for the third time in their history and for the first time since 1996? This is the question before the upcoming Euro 2020. Let’s preview what the Mannschaft can offer us in these online soccer betting tips for today.

Here’s one important thing to remind you at the beginning of this article. This tournament is going to be the last one of Germany’s legendary head coach Joachim Low. The 61-years old tactician is managing his country since 2006, and for these 15 years, he led the Mannschaft to the World Cup title in 2014. Now, this is his last chance to win the European Championship as well. He already reached the final once – in 2008, but his team suffered a defeat at the hands of Spain. After the Euro 2020, Low will be replaced by Bayern Munich’s former manager Hansi Flick.

Joachim Low already announced his 26-man squad for the Euro, and there were some surprises. Low decided to call Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels back in the team despite some expectations he would bring some younger players instead. The truth is both Muller and Hummels had pretty good seasons for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, so their return is not that surprising at all.

Speaking of young players, Low is not neglecting the youth – that’s for sure. The perfect example for this is Bayern Munich’s 17-years old talent Jamal Musiala who got called up for the Euro. Musiala is still not a starter for the Bavarian club, but his impressive qualities convinced Low to give him a chance to travel with the team. Arguably this is probably the most significant moment in Jamal Musiala’s career so far.

Some other young players got the call from Joachim Low as well. Chelsea’s hero in the Champions League final Kai Havertz is one of them. Havertz had a tough start of the season in the Premier League, but with time he started to play better and better for Chelsea. His winning goal in the Champions League final against Manchester City was the most brilliant moment of his career so far. We can’t know if Havertz will be a starter for Germany at the Euro or not, but we are pretty sure Low will use him a lot.

Barcelona’s goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is missing the Euro 2020 because of injury. Some might say it’s not so crucial as Manuel Neuer is the starter in this team, but it could be important if something happens with Neuer. Now Arsenal’s Bernd Leno and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp must be ready to come on the pitch anytime they’re needed.

Timo Werner is the striker who will lead Germany’s attack at the Euro. He didn’t have the most impressive debut season in the Premier League but won the Champions League with the Blues. In the Premier League, Werner scored just six goals in 35 matches, so the fans will expect much more from him in his second season. In the Champions League, Werner managed to score four times.

Ilkay Gundogan could turn to be an influential figure for the national team this summer. The midfielder played his best season at Manchester City and managed to score 17 goals in all competitions for the English champion – more than any other season in his career so far. Gundogan’s brilliant shape for City could make Joachim Low put him in the starting eleven for good. He could be an essential player in the midfield alongside Toni Kroos and Joshua Kimmich.

Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger is another player from Stamford Bridge who could be a decisive figure for the Mannschaft. Rudiger had probably his best season for Chelsea so far. He was instrumental in winning the Champions League and showed some impressive consistency in defense. The statistics showed that Chelsea rarely lost when Rudiger was on the pitch. The question is – who will partner him in the heart of the defense? One of Joachim Low’s options is to use Mats Hummels’ experience, but Borussia M’gladbach’s Matthias Ginter is another option for this position. Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule is an option as well – he’s a very tall player, and he can dominate the air when it’s necessary.

Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka will fight for a place in the midfield area, too. We can say Goretzka is a beast since he left Schalke 04 for the Bavarian giants. In 2020 he won six trophies with Bayern, and he was one of the most important players in Hansi Flick’s team. He brings not just physicality in the midfield, but also knows how to score goals and help the strikers.

At the Euro, Germany will need some pace and creativity on the wings, too. This is where Bayern Munich’s duo Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry need to leave their mark. Both players are very quick and technical on the ball. They know how to create danger, how to assist, and how to score. If Joachim Low decides to use them at the same time on both flanks, this would bring some serious headache to Germany’s opponents. Imagine if you have to deal with these two wingers at the same time.

Five years ago at Euro 2016, Germany did well and reached the 1/2-finals of the competition, but lost against the host country France. Reaching the Top 4 of a big competition is always a solid achievement, but in the end, the Germans were disappointed for the missed opportunity to play another final.

That’s our online soccer betting tips for the team of Germany before the start of Euro 2020. We believe the Mannschaft has some serious potential to do damage at the tournament. This will be Joachim Low’s last competition with the German team, so he and the players would like to do well. When your name is Germany, there could be just one goal – reaching the final and winning the competition. Let’s see if this is going to be the deal this summer.
